In Swallow the Sun's heartwrenching series premiere, rebellious Il Hwan is imprisoned and plots his escape, but initially fails to succeed after being chased by vengeful soldiers. He is subsequently rescued by Mi Yeon, a kind person who cares for him after his ordeal.
The series returns with a second episode, revolving around Jung Woo's harsh trials at the threatening hands of Min Ho, who threatens to kill him for trespassing. Shortly after this ordeal, Jung Woo travels to Seoul to live with Min Ho's son.
