After the police show up on his doorstep, Paul denies he has even met the woman making the rape allegations against him. Marie knows he's a womanizer but must decide whether or not to stand by him, and his troubled divorced daughter, Dee, begins to question her relationship with her father. But for Paul the accusations have just begun.
As the allegations against Paul mount, Dee embarks on a dangerous course of action, and Marie has some disturbing realizations. Paul decides to take a high-risk step to clear his name, which infuriates his lawyer. His old comedy partner, Karl Jenkins, lends his support - to Paul and to his wife.
An encounter with one of Paul's accusers leaves Marie rattled, and an interview with his new lawyer makes her question her continued loyalty. Is it love - or is it denial? Dee is recuperating in the hospital after her accident, but Paul can't bring himself to visit her. His legal team make a minor breakthrough in the case, but its value depends on Paul's willingness to lie.
Paul and his family face his accusers in court. He wants to take the stand and put forth his side of the story but is advised not to. Marie realizes that the role of Karl Jenkins is key to the outcome. How Paul's old partner decides to testify may determine the future course of everyone's lives.
