Janaka is childless. His kingdom, Mithila has been reeling under a drought since 12 years. Elsewhere, Raam and his brothers are under the tutelage of Guru Vashishta. Janaka builds a golden sickle and finds a baby girl as he begins to plough the field. The baby's first cry brings rainfall.
Dasharatha watches Raam excel in the archery and combat tests conducted by Guru Vashishta. Elsewhere, Seetha impresses her family by making mud figures. Yogini Sulabha visits Mithila to test Janaka and gives her blessings to Seetha. Raam notices a wound on Dasaratha's foot and tends to it.
Dasharatha recalls Ram's childhood. Elsewhere, Sunaina teaches Seetha to cook. Janaka learns about future planning from Seetha. Kaushalya is sad thinking about Ram's sister, Shanta. Sumithra and Kaikeyi suggest Kaushalya to reconcile with Dasharatha.
Raam talks to Guru Vashistha about his nightmare. Elsewhere, Maharishi Gautama tells Janaka that he wants to become Seetha's Guru. Janaka announces in the jnana sabha of rewarding the most knowledgeable person with 1000 cows. Janaka is worried learning that the cows have run away.
Seetha and her sisters go to the forest to look for the missing cows. A Brahmin stops Seetha from roaming in the woods and warns her about a cursed Ahalya. Seetha returns home with the cows. Later, she questions Rishi Gauthama about his curse.
Seetha learns that a prince from Raghu's clan will end Ahalya's curse. Janaka decides to send Seetha to a Gurukul and consoles a worried Sunaina. Raam and his brothers take leave of Guru Vashishta and begin their journey home. Seetha’s sister, Shrutakirti is startled by a serpent while enjoying a game.
