Tondy Gallant

Years of work in music, stage and film finally paid off for actress-singer Tondy Gallant when she was cast in "Your Husband is Cheating on Us" (Bravo, 2018-), a documentary series that followed the action onstage and behind the scenes at a popular musical production. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Gallant began pursuing a career in music at an early age, which began in earnest after auditioning for the long-running talent competition series "Star Search" (syndicated, 1983-1995). The exposure led to work as a background singer for other artists, though she continued to vie for her own career, most notably through an audition for the second season of the reality TV series "Making the Band" (ABC/TV, 2000-09). Though she only reached the final rounds on that series, Gallant found solo fame as the star of several regional touring musical productions on the urban circuit, including "If These Hips Could Talk." Roles in independent features like "Crossover" (2006), with Anthony Mackie, and "Soul Kittens Cabaret" (2011), with Fantasia Barrino and Faith Evans, soon followed, but Gallant's breakout role would not come until 2018, when she was cast in "Your Husband is Cheating on Us," a docuseries about the backstage drama at an urban market musical produced and directed by J.D. Lawrence. In both the series and the play it depicted, Gallant co-starred with R&B singer Ginuwine.
