Shirley Caesar
Grammy-winning Shirley Caesar was a cherished music legend with an exceptional career. She had an early role on the television special "Celebrate the Soul of American Music" (1990-91). In the early stages of her Hollywood career, Caesar held acting roles in films like the musical "Gospel" (1982) with The Mighty Clouds of Joy. She also worked in television around this time, including a part on "VH1 Gospel From the House of Blues" (VH1, 1998-99). Caesar had a number of different projects under her belt in the early 2000s, including "7th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards" "The 17th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards" and "The Fighting Temptations" with Cuba Gooding Jr. (2003). Her credits also expanded to "Glory Road" with Josh Lucas (2006) and "Sunday Best" (BET, 2007-2015). Most recently, Caesar acted in the T.D. Jakes drama "The Scroll: Transformation" (2014).
