Manuel Balbi
A charming actor known for his many roles on telenovelas and Spanish-language films, Manuel Balbi became one to watch in the Latin acting world. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Balbi began to study acting as a teen and was eventually accepted into the acting school of the well-known Spanish-language production company Televisa's Center for Artistic Education. His television career began with minor roles on "Siempre te amaré" (2000), "Amigas y rivales" (2001) and "Tal para cual" (2002). He graduated to supporting roles on the crime drama "Agua y aceite" (2002) and romantic telenovela "Gitanas" (2004). 2009 found Balbi playing Rafael, the son of Carmela and Samuel on "Vuélveme a querer" (2009). Balbi's breakthrough into film came with the independent sci-fi movie "Seres: Genesis" (2010), about a series of paranormal events revolving around alien life. He was then chosen to star in the comedy film "Casi treinta" (2014) as the 29-year-old Emilio, a rich employee of an airline who wishes more than anything to be a writer. In 2013, Balbi was cast as a protagonist in "Fortuna" (2013) as the adopted son of one of the main characters and his character went on to have a relationship with the main protagonist, Alicia.
