Dolores Huerta

Dolores Huerta is an American labor leader and feminist activist. After working for several years with the Community Service Organization, she co-founded the National Farm Workers Association with fellow activists Cesar Chavez and Gilbert Padilla, which eventually merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to become the United Farm Workers.

While there's comfort in connecting with like-minded people, Silverman feels it's crucial to develop relationships with people who may not agree with her opinions. Through honesty, humor, and a genuine interest in others, she attempts to do just that.
