The Mistress of Atlantis

A remake of the 1921 Jacques Feyder film of the same name, this version by director G. W. Pabst stars Brigitte Helm as Antinea, the Queen of Atlantis. Shot in the Sahara Desert, Atlantis is hidden within this desolate locale and remains undiscovered until two explorers stumble upon the mythical kingdom. Once in her realm, Antinea keeps the men, initially as lovers, but as she grows tired of them she is known to kill these unsuspecting outsiders and mummify them as trophies.
