Princess Tam Tam
As the title denotes, a royal title becomes a central concern to the story, but the story is actually the creation of struggling novelist Max de Mirecourt (Albert Prejean). Seeking an escape from his wife and his woes in Europe, Max travels to Tunisia where he meets an enchanting shepherdess named Alwina (Josephine Baker). What transpires is a Pygmalion-like picture in which Max attempts to transform Alwina into a woman who can pass as a princess in Paris’s high-society circles.
