The Count of Monte Cristo

In 1814 after a glorious defeat, Napoleon was sent to Elba Island. Upon finishing a long voyage, Edmond Dantes returns to Marseille where his bride-to-be, Mercedes, impatiently awaits him. Unfortunately, not long after his return, Dantes, gets falsely accused of Bonapartism, arrested and thrown in prison at the Château d'If. Although isolated, he manages to befriend another prisoner, Father Faria.
