Stingaree
In the Australian outback, the citizens of a small town eagerly await the arrival of the famous British composer Sir Julian Kent (Conway Tearle), who the wealthy rancher Hugh Clarkson (Henry Stephenson) hopes will aid the singing career of his less than talented wife (Mary Boland). Kent’s arrival is interrupted by the infamous outlaw Stingaree (Richard Dix), a lover of music, who abducts Kent and assumes his identity when he visits the Clarkson’s home. There, he is irresistibly drawn to the singing of Hilda (Irene Dunne), their maid. Taken with Hilda, Stingaree decides to launch her singing career himself, resulting in his capture and imprisonment. The real Sir Julian does help Hilda and takes her to Europe where she becomes a successful singer, but she longs to be with Stingaree.
