Rossini's William Tell Overture

“William Tell” was Rossini's grand and dazzling farewell to the stage. The overture—ironically used as “The Lone Ranger” theme—recalls the opera's setting in the Swiss Alps, as performed by the Berlin Philharmonic and Herbert von Karajan.
