The Making of RADBUL

'Mad' Mike Whiddett challenges the Formula One drift car landscape with his new project: the RADBUL. From concept to creation, Mad Mike walks through the building of the RADBUL, beginning with the MX-5 chassis and its stylish angular roll cage.

After upgrading to a twin-turbo 26B rotary engine, Mike Whiddett's RADBUL now boasts an incredible 1,200bhp. Accompanying this newfound power is a custom driveline and a cooling system which includes an unconventional rear-mounted radiator.

The RADBUL is outfitted with custom steering and suspension systems to harness its overwhelming power. 'Mad' Mike and lead engineer Kaz Townsend walk through the MX-5’s handling upgrades, many of which were designed specifically for the RADBUL.

Renowned rotary-tuning workshop Pulse Performance Race Engineering reveals the headway it has made on the RADBUL project, specifically in the engine bay, where it’s all about big power, chassis balance, and some signature 'Mad' Mike shock value.

The RADBUL reaches the final stages of assembly and is brought to life for the very first time. After an extensive two-day tuning session, the RADBUL heads back to 'Mad' Mike’s compound in Auckland, New Zealand, for some custom body work.
