Carrie Ecker escapes from her cult-like colony in the woods, dead set on building a new life in the sleepy mining town of West Pine, Ore. But when dangerous figures from her past hunt her down, she embraces the role she left behind -- that of a monster killer, trained to protect the world from unthinkable horrors that live behind a secret door in the woods. Based on a two short films, the series also touches on contemporary social issues like discrimination, the human cost of environmentalism and the consequences of inequality.
