The Chinese government's ambassador is trying to discern sensitive information that Stella has in her hands, and is most wicked with his tactics. Stella is set up against the wall, but her fate takes on a big dinner in Harpa; leaving Stella to use all means to save herself from the execution team in China's blackout.

Stella tries to help a young Syrian refugee girl who is on the run after being imprisoned. As she digs deeper into the case, she uncovers a human trafficking ring that seems to have connections within the police force. Before long Stella faces a dangerous new enemy who will do anything to silence her and the investigation.

But Dagbjört’s enemies are powerful, and to save her, and herself, Stella has to figure out who is behind the attempted assassination. And perhaps stop a bold and ruthless coup d’état.
