In modern, rural Ireland, Connell and Marianne, on different ends of the school’s social scene, begin an intense, secret affair.

Based on Sally Rooney's novel, NORMAL PEOPLE tracks the tender but complicated relationship of Marianne and Connell from the end of their school days in a small town in the west of Ireland to their undergraduate years at Trinity College.

Connell and Marianne are together, but when he loses his job and she has an upsetting trip home, they withdraw from each other.
