Kamala Khan, a teenager growing up in Jersey City and mega fan of the Avengers, feels a little out of place at school and sometimes even at home. She is determined to attend Avengercon, even if her parents won't allow it. But what starts off as a Captain Marvel cosplay competition takes an unexpected turn is she becoming one of the super heroes she's always looked up to?

Investigating the source of her newfound powers, Kamala and Bruno explore what she can do with her abilities. But Kamala becomes distracted from her super hero training when she meets Kamran, the new kid at school. Her powers will be put to the test when she's confronted with a perilous situation, and she's the only one who can help.

With the Department of Damage Control on her tail, Kamala tries to lay low ahead of her brother's upcoming wedding. When she meets a group of people who have information on mysteries that have plagued her family for generations, Kamala begins to learn more about the source of her powers. These friendly strangers need Kamala's help, but whatever decision she makes could have grave consequences.

In an effort to better understand the source of her powers and the secrets of her bangle, Kamala travels to the only person who might have answersher grandmother. On this adventure in a new city where she doesn't quite fit in, Kamala crosses paths with a mysterious stranger who takes her on an unexpected adventure. She will discover that her family history is more complicated than she thought.

The bangle reveals to Kamala secrets about her family lineage, as well as the truth behind the Veil.

Back in Jersey, Kamala finds Kamran and protects him from Damage Control who will stop at nothing to take him in.
