MATILDAS: THE WORLD AT OUR FEET is a documentary series that offers a behind-the-scenes look at how Australia's national women's soccer team prepares for the 2023 FIFA World Cup. It follows coach Tony Gustavsson, team captain Sam Kerr, and other players on the team as they train, play, and prepare themselves for the most prestigious soccer competition in the world. Because it will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the team doesn't have to qualify for a spot, but the players are collectively working hard on their strategies, learning how to deal with the pressures of playing other top-ranked teams, and building their confidence to play the best they can and win on their home turf. It also reveals how individual team members negotiate their personal lives and goals to make this happen. But no matter what they do, they remain an inspiration for the next generation of female soccer players.
