On "Holy & Hungry," Emmy-winning TV personality Sherri Shepherd shines the spotlight on people whose passion for food and cooking is matched only by their passion for their faith. The daughter of a deacon, Shepherd says "eating has always been like a religious experience" for her and she intends to share the stories of people who have a similar viewpoint. The cooks she visits share their recipes and cooking tips with her. Among the stops on Shepherd's faith-filled journey are a family-run Staten Island restaurant that serves fast food-inspired kosher goods and a Manhattan church, where a member of the congregation serves up Jesus and Mary biscuits for her monthly supper club, Grits to Grace.
