El incidente

Valle del Cer is a small town in the mountains with its own lake. Its inhabitants enjoy a quiet life, unaware of the event that in a few hours will change everything forever: the storm. An unusually hot day gives way to an extraordinary downpour accompanied by a gale and an electrical storm. No one in town had ever seen anything like it. After the storm, the calm reveals a series of wonders: Nacho, hostel owner Tania's husband, wakes up from a two-year coma laying on a hospital bed; María, a teacher, gets pregnant without ever having sex; Ramón, an old man with Alzheimer’s, shows signs of recovering… What they take as a reason to be happy, almost a miracle, will soon show its darker side. Nacho and Ramón don't seem to be their previous selves. In fact, they don't even show normal reactions or feelings. Each wonder complicates the personal situation and environment of those affected. Tania, alone and downhearted by her husband's situation, begins a relationship with his brother, Pablo. María was considering a relationship with Ribero, the town's forest ranger, to whom she confessed her virginity and Abel, Ramón's grandson, returns home following the tragic death of his mother in an accident. The commotion left behind by the storm is as big as the mysteries that followed it. Alicia, chief of the forest rangers, is the first person to notice that something strange is happening in the town and helped by Pablo, she begins a troubling investigation to uncover what hides behind "the incident."

A crack suddenly opens in the ground near a house; one side has dried, but the other has not. On the other hand, Nacho continues with his strange attitude, now he is able to get up and walk at a good pace.

The neighbours of Valle del Cer begin to get nervous about recent events, while Ana talks with someone that claims that "there's a lot at stake". Pablo finds María disoriented in the middle of the road. What happened to her? Also, among the many strange things happening in Valle del Cer, Esther recovers her sight. The problems keep piling up, but Alicia finds something that connects all these mysteries.

Alicia and Pablo go to the lake. Pablo believes Sara to be affected by the strange phenomena, like Nacho, Ramón, Esther, and María. As the days go by, more neighbours begin to exhibit strange behaviour. Ana sneaks into Nacho's house, who Pablo notices is acting more and more different. Before being discovered, she grabs a sample of Nacho's hair. Abel sees his grandfather in the distance talking with Nacho. Both turn their heads towards Abel, who can't understand why his grandfather is lying to him. María wakes up in the morning on a bench in the town square, confused, disoriented and wet. She doesn't know what's happening. Her pregnancy is also strange. She decides to install a camera in her room to find out what happens every night. She is shocked to see herself getting up in the middle of the night, leaving the room and coming back with two fish in her hands that she eats while pouring a water bottle over herself. Daniela finds a body in the lake. It's the water treatment plant technician, who measured the water quality. During the night, Ramón gets up from his chair and enters his son's room... and then cries out in pain.

Ribero shows photos to Pablo and Alicia of what they found while dredging the lake: metal objects from the surrounding area, as if a giant magnet was below the water. They were not underwater however, but floating on top, like the water itself was magnetic. Daniela decides to write an article about the strange phenomena in town, but when she tries to send the documents to her uncle, a virus message appears on her computer, blocking it. Daniela writes it by hand, a decision that has terrible consequences. Nacho keeps trying to fix his relationship with Hugo and Tania, and, though she still thinks of Pablo, Nacho and Tania have sex after a long time. It seems that the couple are back together, but suddenly, an indiscretion by Nacho alerts Tania. Abel takes his grandfather Ramón to the care home and ensures with the nurse that he won't be able to get out during the night. Daniela tries to visit her grandfather, sneaking in without anyone in the hospital noticing. Suddenly, she sees a shadow and hides in the closet just in time to see a chilling image: all of the patients are coming for her like zombies, with her grandfather leading. The events in this small town seem to develop quickly, bringing an unexpected conclusion to the story.
