Washed-up journalist James Alden might just have landed the interview of the decade, with Natalie Varga, who is suspected of murdering her rich Hungarian husband. But she'll only grant him the exclusive everyone wants if he helps her find the killer.

Natalie tells James she has just seen her dead brother, Oliver, who went on the run after borrowing from Hungarian drug dealers. Ignoring efforts to warn him off, James decides to fly out to Budapest, but he's not the only one searching for Oliver.

After a terrifying flight to Budapest, James tracks down an ex-boyfriend of Natalie's, who believes she murdered her husband. He also manages to locate Oliver, but in doing so puts himself in real danger.

Everything James thought he knew has been turned upside down and he barely escapes with his life. He returns to London to pursue the killer but Barbara has fired him from his job and no-one believes his stories of what happened in Budapest.
