The Bermuda Triangle: Everybody’s heard about this stretch of cursed ocean off America’s eastern coast where ships and aircraft disappear without explanation. Or do they? Sam dives in to the origin of the curse of the Bermuda Triangle and looks to oceanographers, physicists and probability analysts to get to the sandy wet bottom of this age-old ocean mystery.
In the 4th century B.C. Plato wrote about Atlantis, a city that he said was cursed by the gods and then sunk into the ocean. Although most people think Atlantis was an allegory, Plato insisted the city was real. And thousands of years later, people are still trying to find it. Sam joins the search as he investigates whether there was any grain of truth to this mythical city.
Everybody has heard about Dracula, a blood-thirsty monster who invokes immortality with a bite on the neck. Many believe the real Dracula was 15th century eastern European ruler Vlad Tepes, known for impaling enemies and whose curse upon his homeland has lasted for six centuries. With the help of emerging science in the field of genetics, Sam investigates the curse of Vlad the Impaler.
In 1915 in Louisiana, local hoodoo practitioner and healer Aunt Julia Brown was enraged at the loggers cutting down her swamp, so she invoked a curse on the people and the land. On the day of her death a deadly hurricane swept through the bayou destroying 3 towns and killing most of the people living in it. A century later, locals still blame all of the hardships in Louisiana on her curse.
Sam heads to the Mountain State to investigate the curse of the Mothman, a winged cryptid whose presence signals disaster. But, in a dangerous turn of events, Sam finds himself embroiled in a tangled web of disasters, population poisoning, physical threats and dirty politics in West Virginia.
