Zane Holtz
Canadian actor Zane Holtz first caught attention in kids comedy-drama "Holes" (2003) before landing significant roles in teen hit "Make It or Break It" (ABC Family, 2009-2012), TV horror adaptation "From Dusk till Dawn: The Series" (El Rey, 2014-) and war veteran tale "Battle Scars" (2015). Born in Vancouver, Holtz began modelling aged just five years old and soon after appeared in various commercials, but following a move to California with his mother and three younger brothers, he began to pursue an acting career. Holtz made his dramatic debut in an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-2015), and two years later was cast as Barfbag, the delinquent teen who escapes detention camp by deliberately getting bit by a rattlesnake, in the adaptation of Louis Sachar's novel, "Holes" (2003). After taking time out to study at Los Angeles' Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Holtz returned to the small screen with guest spots on "Crash" (Starz, 2008-09) and "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003-10), and then the big screen with brief appearances in young adult fantasy adventure "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" (2010) and the "Twilight" (2008) spoof "Vampires Suck" (2010). Holtz then landed his first recurring role as Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Austin Tucker on teen drama "Make It or Break It" (ABC Family, 2009-2012), played Logan Lerman's older brother Chris in coming-of-age film "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" (2012), and appeared as real-life murder victim Travis Alexander's best friend Nick in the TV movie "Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret" (2013). After adding to his list of film credits with his performance of rugged TV star Jay Grayson in Christian musical drama "Grace Unplugged" (2013), Holtz was cast as Richie Gecko, the more violent and unpredictable of the two brothers on the run from the FBI, in the cult vampire adaptation, "From Dusk till Dawn: The Series" (El Rey, 2014-). In the same year, Holtz played one of three friends forced to carry out a robbery which goes horribly wrong in "7 Minutes" (2014) and landed the part of a meth addict in Bret Easton Ellis' teen angst thriller, "The Curse of Downers Grove" (2014). In 2015, Holtz starred as Luke Stephens, a PTSD-suffering war veteran who becomes embroiled in another world of violence on his return home in "Battle Scars" (2015), and played one of seven friends terrorised by an unseen beast during their annual hunting trip in horror "Wind Walkers" (2015).
