Zabryna Guevara
Stage actress Zabryna Guevara enjoyed a string of roles on high-profile television series, including the gritty urban dramas "Gotham" (Fox, 2014-), "The Get Down" (Netflix, 2016-17) and "Happy!" (SyFy, 2017-). Was a veteran of the New York and national touring theater scene when she began appearing in bit roles for episodic television series like "The Sopranos" (HBO, 1999-2007) and "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010). She was briefly a series regular on the medical drama "3 Lbs." (CBS, 2007), but soon returned to guest roles on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-2015) and a multi-episode arc as a resourceful smuggler on "Burn Notice" (USA Network, 2007-2013). Guevara also enjoyed roles in the occasional feature like "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014), which cast her as the secretary of Peter Dinklage's villainous Bolivar Trask, and in off-Broadway productions of "Water by the Spoonful," among other dramas. She finally earned a breakout TV project in 2014 when she was cast as police captain Sarah Essen on "Gotham." Her character arc ended during the show's second season, after which Guevara enjoyed a recurring role as the wife of strict New York pastor Giancarlo Esposito on the short-lived drama "The Get Down." The musical drama series, co-created by Baz Luhrmann, was pulled after its second season, but Guevara was soon back on screen, enjoying a supporting turn in the critically praised romantic comedy "The Incredible Jessica James" (2017) for Netflix and series regular work on the offbeat comedy-drama series "Happy!," which starred Christopher Meloni as a cop-turned-hit man whose efforts to redeem himself are aided by an imaginary horse, voiced by Patton Oswalt.
