Yvette Wilson

American comedian and actor Yvette Wilson was born in Los Angeles, California. After majoring in communications at San Jose State University, Wilson began to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. Her earliest on-screen appearances were in an episode of "Uptown Comedy Club" (Syndication, 1992-94) and two episodes of "In Living Color" (Fox, 1990-94). Wilson was cast in her first feature film role in the drama "Poetic Justice" (1993). Her most memorable role would prove to be playing Andell Wilkerson in the sitcom "Moesha" (UPN, 1996-2001). She remained a main character for five of the show's six seasons, leaving it in 2000 for the spin-off "The Parkers" (UPN, 1999-2004). Yvette Wilson died of cervical cancer on June 14, 2012 at the age of 48.
