Yakov Smirnoff
Yakov Smirnoff rose to fame as an actor, gracing the silver screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Smirnoff kickstarted his acting career in comedies like "Moscow on the Hudson" (1984) starring Robin Williams, the Peter Weller film "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension" (1984) and "Brewster's Millions" (1985) starring Richard Pryor. He also appeared in "The Money Pit" (1986). Smirnoff worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "Night Court" (NBC, 1983-1992). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "We the People 200: The Constitutional Gala" (CBS, 1987-88) and "Hope News Network" (NBC, 1988-89). Additionally, he later acted in "Up Your Alley" (1989) with Linda Blair. He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "What a Country!" (1986-87). He also appeared in the drama "Proud American" (2008) with Jonathan Banks. Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Yakov Smirnoff Live From Moscow... Idaho" (Showtime, 1990-91) and "International Swimsuit '91 With Elle Macpherson" (NBC, 1990-91). Most recently, Smirnoff acted in "Awful Nice" (2014).
