Willie Colón

Willie Colon brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. To break into the world of acting, Colon held roles in films like "The Last Fight" (1983) starring Willie Colon and "Vigilante" (1983) with Robert Forster and Fred "The Hammer" Williamson. Colon worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "The Cosby Show" (NBC, 1984-1992). Colon also contributed music to the comedy "Mixed Blood" (1985) with Marilia Pera. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Colon devoted his time to various credits, such as "Carlito's Way" with Al Pacino (1993), "It Could Happen to You" with Nicolas Cage (1994) and "Love Letter to New York" (PBS, 1999-2000). He also worked on the Julia Roberts and Richard Gere blockbuster "Runaway Bride" (1999), "Empire" (2002) starring John Leguizamo and "El Cantante" (2007). Colon's music was also featured in "Street Kings" (2008) with Keanu Reeves, "Next Day Air" (2009) with Mike Epps and "Chef" (2014) with Jon Favreau. His music was also featured in the Nick Frost romantic comedy "Cuban Fury" (2014) and "Small Time" (2014). Colon's music was most recently used in the Johnny Depp crime drama "Black Mass" (2015).
