Wakeema Hollis

Wakeema Hollis was an American fashion model and actress who broke out in 2017 when she joined the cast of "Dynasty" (The CW, 2017-). Born in Memphis and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, Hollis never intended on becoming a professional actress or model. However, her life took and unexpected turn when, at the age of 15, she was discovered by a modeling scout and signed with an agency. Hollis subsequently moved to New York City and began traveling the world as a magazine and runway model. Throughout the 2000s she graced the covers of some of the most respected fashion magazines in the world, while appearing in fashion shows all across the globe, including London and Paris. By the 2010s, however, Hollis started gravitating towards acting. She began going on auditions in New York and in 2014 nabbed her first screen role on the hit HBO drama "Girls" (HBO, 2012-17). Hollis played a waitress on the series. That same year she also landed guest spots on the shows "Black Box" (ABC, 2014) and "The Mysteries of Laura" (NBC, 2014-16). The following year Hollis landed her very first film role in the science-fiction drama "Creative Control" (2015), which was written and directed by Benjamin Dickinson. With her acting career clearly on the rise, Hollis broke out in 2017 when she joined the cast of the reboot of the popular 80s primetime soap opera "Dynasty." Hollis was cast as Monique Colby on the series, which premiered on The CW in October of 2017.
