The chefs step up to compete one-on-one in an ingredient game show. Contestants who win can either choose the fate of that ingredient or sabotage the other team. James Beard Award-winning chefs of “Jon & Vinny’s” John Shook and Vinny Dotolo join Gordon in the dining room to taste the final dishes.

This week’s challenge takes place in the HELL’S KITCHEN “Jungle,” where the contestants must create a dish using exotic meats – Boar, Venison and Elk – that were eaten by early humans. Each team will use a spear to hunt for five ingredients to prepare as sides for their dish. Gordon invites special guests Chef Jon Shook and Chef Vinny Dotolo (Animal, Son of a Gun, and Trois Mec restaurants) to help judge the challenge. Later, during the dinner service, Goo Goo Dolls lead singer John Rzeznik is a guest at the chef’s table, causing a change in momentum for one team.

In this week’s team challenge, Chef Ramsay presents the remaining contestants with a series of exotic proteins, ranging from alligator to ostrich to wild boar. The chefs must prove their creativity in dishing up these exotic meats and pass the test of meat maestros and special guests Jon Shook and Vinnie Dotolo, chefs and owner of Los Angeles restaurant Animal. The team with the highest cumulative score wins a day of rest and relaxation, while the losing team will scrub down HELL’S KITCHEN. Back in the dorms, Chef Ramsay surprises the chefs with one-on-one evaluations that reveal some early rankings among them. In a special one-on-one competition, the two weakest chefs from the two teams will compete to remain in the competition. Find out who will go home.

In the next challenge, with a little help from a few other home cooks, the remaining three contestants will create dishes for a judging panel of renowned chefs representing all 50 states. The home cook with the most number of votes will move on in the competition, while the remaining two home cooks will face the next pressure test, during which they must complete three classic American desserts. The home cook with the best desserts will move on to the finals.
