Victor Brandt

Victor Brandt began his career in the '60s as a dependable film and television character actor and branched out into voice acting in the '90s. His earliest roles came on shows like the gentle family sitcom "My Three Sons," but he gave his breakthrough performance as an ambitious corporal a few years later on "Gomer Pyle, United StatesM.C. ." Based on the misadventures of the sweet but dimwitted Pyle, whom Jim Nabors first portrayed on the long-running series "The Andy Griffith Show," "United StatesM.C." led to even bigger roles for Brandt; he guest-starred on several episodes of the cult sci-fi series "Star Trek" and played a curious TV installer in the Emmy-winning TV movie "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble." He landed steady supporting work on mystery and crime series like "T.J. Hooker" and "Cagney & Lacey" and landed a rare big-screen role as a stern bailiff in Clint Eastwood's gothic southern drama "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." In 1996, Brandt was cast as absent-minded Professor Hamilton on the award-winning "Superman" animated series and later reprised his role in the video game "Superman: Shadow of Apokolips." He gave voice to the gently warning narrator in the live-action adaptation of "The Cat in the Hat" and has maintained several recurring roles on the blood-drenched "Metalocalypse," centered on the eccentric members of a black metal band.
