Toby Turner

Toby Joe Turner was born in Osborn, MS, and grew up in Niceville, FL. He studied telecommunication production at the University of Florida, where he also took up the hobby of creating and producing YouTube videos. Under the alias "Tobuscus," Turner began his web filmmaking career with comedic sketches parodying the Adam Sandler film "Click" (2006) and the 2007 incident at the University of Florida where a student was tasered by a university security guard. In 2009, Turner created the Literal Trailers series, a satirical send-up of major studio movies-including, among many others, "Clash of the Titans" (2010) and "Twilight: Eclipse" (2010)-which earned him widespread notability. Around the same time, Turner launched a likewise comedic series of play-through videos focusing on popular video game titles. In 2010, Turner broke into big screen acting, making his film debut in "New Low" (2010), a romantic comedy written and directed by and starring Adam Bowers. Following this, he collaborated with parties like YouTube personality iJustine, improvisational comic Wayne Brady, and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger on a number of internet videos, all the while continuing his pursuit of big screen and television gigs in such projects as the horror film "Smiley" (2012), the comedy series "The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange" (Cartoon Network/YouTube 2012-14), and the animated film "The Angry Birds Movie" (2016); his scenes were ultimately deleted from the latter picture. In 2016, Turner was accused of sexual abuse of his former girlfriend and fellow internet personality April Fletcher.
