T.J. Holmes

T.J. Holmes is a journalist who was born in Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas where he obtained a degree in broadcast journalism. He spent some time at KSNF in Joplin, Missouri and later became an assignment reporter at KTHV in Little Rock, Arkansas. Before long, he became a weekend anchor. It was in 2003 that he moved to KNTV in California. While there he was assigned to cover the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, the recall election that resulted in Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming governor of California and the Scott Peterson murder trial. In 2006, he found a home at CNN where he co-anchored and then anchored their weekend morning show. After covering several historical events such as the aftermath of the Virginia Tech shootings, the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks and Saddam Hussein's execution, Holmes signed on with BET. He also had a stint at MSNBC before returning to CNN. In 2014 he joined ABC News where he became co-anchor of "World News Now" and later "GMA3: What You Need to Know." In 2024, Holmes and co-host of GMA3, Amy Robach, were found to be having a romantic relationship which resulted in them both being fired. In 2023, the two began a podcast together.
