Sharon Acker

Chosen by the Motion Picture Exhibitors of Canada as the Film Star of Tomorrow in 1969, Sharon Acker is best known for playing Lee Marvin's put-upon ex-wife in the John Boorman thriller "Point Blank" before spending the rest of her career acting in small TV roles. Born in Toronto, she was a theater actress in England when given the starring role in the 1957 film "Lucky Jim," an adaptation of the Kingsley Amis novel. Ten years and several small TV and films roles later, she was given her memorable part in "Point Blank." Instead of launching her film career the role instead led to several decades of TV guest appearances and the occasional small feature role. Some of her more notable parts include guest starring on the original "Star Trek," a regular role on the mid-'70s boardroom drama "Executive Suite," and a part in the Canadian sci-fi film "Threshold," which co-starred Jeff Goldblum and Donald Sutherland. Sharon Acker died on March 16, 2023 in Toronto, ON, Canada at the age of 87.
