Shanice

American singer-songwriter, actor and dancer Shanice Wilson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before moving to Los Angeles with her mother and aunt as they pursued careers in the music industry. Soon, it was obvious that it was Wilson that was destined to start a musical career. At just nine years old, she starred in a commercial with legendary singer Ella Fitzgerald and signed up with A&M Records just two years later. Her first album, "Discovery" (1987) came out when she was just 14, with two top 10 R&B hits. She later signed a deal with Motown Records, with which she released the album "Inner Child" (1991); the album reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. As she matured as an artist, Shanice was featured in various film soundtracks, such as "Boomerang" (1992), "The Meteor Man" (1993), "Pocahontas" (1995), and "Panther" (1995). She has also performed backing vocals for other artists, including for Michael Jackson's posthumous album, released in 2010. Most recently, she had an acting role in the TV movie "To Her, With Love" (2022).
