Sean Curran
A songwriter, worship leader, and singer with a warm, high-toned voice that stands out from the choir, Sean Curran was first known a founding member of Florida Christian rock group Bellarive. They hit the Billboard Christian albums chart with two albums in the 2010s before Curran joined Passion as a featured vocalist in 2017. He made his solo debut in 2019 with the single "Live Again."
Curran took up the guitar at 13 and was inspired to play as much as he could throughout middle and high school. During that time, he also accepted an invitation to join his church's student worship team, something he also embraced with enthusiasm. He studied music and business in college while serving as worship pastor at a church in Orlando.
Curran then formed Bellarive with Melissa Mage (vocals/percussion), Mike Mage (guitar/vocals), Zach Glotffelty (lead guitar), Josh Luker (bass), and Kenny Werner (drums). The group released their debut EP, The Being Human Project...Start Listening, in 2009. That led to a deal with Sparrow Records, which issued their full-length debut, The Heartbeat, in 2012. The album was well-received, reaching number 21 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart and number 17 on the Heatseekers chart. The follow-up, 2014's Before There Was, fared even better commercially, peaking at number 11 and number 8, respectively, on the same charts.
Bellarive disbanded in 2017, the same year Curran made his debut with Atlanta-based worship collective Passion. He was featured on their song "Worthy of Your Name," which reached the Billboard Hot Christian Songs Top 30 in 2017. After appearing on the Vertical Worship's "Real Thing" in 2018, he charted with Passion again in early 2019, with both "Welcome to the Healer" (number 42) and "Bigger Than I Thought" (44). In mid-2019, Curran's first solo single, "Live Again," arrived via Six Steps Records/Capitol Christian Music Group. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
