Scott Porter
Porter was born in Nebraska and raised partially in Florida, and his Midwestern/Southern charm helped him transition from being an athlete to a performer. Singing with an a cappella group in college, he later embraced theater and appeared in an early incarnation of the Off-Broadway musical "Altar Boyz." Porter made his television debut with a brief 2006 stint on the soap opera "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1956-2010), and then landed the role of injured quarterback Jason Street on the beloved football drama "Friday Night Lights." Using his series downtime to moonlight in movies, Porter had a supporting role in the romantic comedy "Music and Lyrics" (2007) and appeared in flashback as the brother of the title hero in "Speed Racer." After starring in the little-seen drama "The Good Guy" (2009) with Alexis Bledel and showing off his musical chops in "Bandslam" (2009), he returned to "Friday Night Lights" in a less-prominent capacity. Moving on to a recurring part on the well-received drama "The Good Wife" (CBS, 2009-16), Porter also indulged the comic-book-geek aspect of his personality by voicing the laser-blasting Cyclops on the Marvel Anime version of "X-Men" (G4, 2011) before playing small-town lawyer George Tucker in "Hart of Dixie," co-starring Rachel Bilson. Outside of this steady gig, Porter has continued to take on movie roles, notably appearing in the quirky comedy "The To Do List" (2013) with Bilson and Aubrey Plaza.
