Sarah Wynter
Wynter was born in Newcastle, Australia. Her grandmother was Joy Cummings, the Lord Mayor of Newcastle and Australia's first female Lord Mayor. Although she left Australia at age 17 to study drama in New York City, NY, she would later return on Aug. 20, 2005, to marry Dan Peres, editor-in-chief of Details magazine, in Sydney.Soon after her arrival in the United States, she landed the first of several big screen but small time parts in such forgettable flicks as the Campbell Scott/Jennifer Beals film "Let It Be Me" (1995) and "Species II." By and large, Wynter's best work would appear on the small screen, as of her other movies, only "The 6th Day" (2000) - an Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick where Wynter played an assassin - received any significant notice or box office results. By contradiction, the blonde beauty's American television career had auspicious beginnings. Her first real TV role (a forgettable soap notwithstanding) was on the series premiere of the iconic "Sex and the City" (HBO, 1998-2004). Wynter earned her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) card with a role which she would later summarize as "the first woman to have sex" on that notoriously sex-laden show. After numerous TV guest roles and small parts in forgettable flicks, in 2002, she landed the role of Kate Warner, older sister of Marie (Laura Harris) on "24." The season was set on the same day as Marie's wedding day, and unveiled details of the Warner family's connections to terrorist organizations. Ultimately, her character became the love interest of Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer. Between interacting with the Warner family, Bauer, and the terrorists, Wynter had ample opportunities to showcase her impressive range, in addition to her icy beauty.Aside from a 2004-05 six-episode arc as Rebecca Caldwell on "Stephen King's The Dead Zone" (USA Network, 2002-07) her next projects were mainly small films - most notably "Three Dollars" (2005) - her first Australian film since she had left for the U.S. After a brief return to the "24" universe as a voice over artist for the video game "24: The Game" (2006), Wynter returned to television in full force, appearing as one of the large cast of NBC's "Windfall" (2006-06). As one of a group of friends who shared a lottery jackpot, Wynter as florist Beth Walsh shared the small screen with co-stars Luke Perry and Jason Gedrick.
