Ryan Guzman

Through hard work and determination, model-turned-actor Ryan Guzman proved that he was more than ready to perform the elaborate dance moves and crazy stunts required of him as star of the popular dance film franchise "Step Up Revolution" (2012). Ryan Anthony Guzman was born in Abilene, TX. Of Mexican-American descent, Guzman had martial arts training and worked as a model for Calvin Klein underwear in 2009 before setting his sights on an acting career. His first big break was scoring the lead in the 2012 dance flick "Step Up Revolution," the fourth installment in the popular "Step Up" film series (2006, 2008, and 2010), which helped launch the career of Channing Tatum. Guzman, who had no professional dancing experience when he signed on to star in the film, prepared for the role by training intensively for weeks to learn the intricate dance combos and moves. In the film, his character Sean was the head of a dance crew who perform cutting-edge flash mobs around Miami, FL and tries to gain notoriety through a YouTube contest. Along the way, he falls in love with another dancer (Kathryn McCormick) whose father is a businessman threatening to develop Sean's historic neighborhood, displacing thousands of residents.
