When Joy's kids are denied enrollment into the camp for troubled youth at the Right Choice Ranch, Earl realizes his reputation for burning down the Ranch's barn when he was a youngster has had a lasting effect. Earl, Randy (Ethan Suplee), and Catalina (Nadine Velazquez) all travel to the Ranch to make amends for the barn burning by building a pen for the camp's new ostrich. When Earl adds Randy to his list for getting him kicked out of the Right Choice Ranch as a kid and consequently ruining his chances at succeeding in life, the truth comes out about how the barn really got destroyed. Earl then decides he and Randy should share responsibility for everything on his list that occurred after the barn incident and forces Randy to right a lot of his wrongs. Eddie Steeples also stars.

Beau Bridges Guest Stars - When Mother's Day rolls around, Earl (Jason Lee) remembers that he has never given his mother a good Mother's Day gift. Just as he and Randy (Ethan Suplee) are about to finish carrying out his long overdue gift his mother decides her repayment should entail Earl doing something nice for his father Carl (guest star Beau Bridges). In order to fulfill his promise to his mother, Earl sets out to reclaim his father's classic Mustang, which he lost in a bet as a kid. Meanwhile, Joy's (Jaime Pressly) Mother's Day present a week away from her kids leaves her missing them all the more. Nadine Velazquez and Eddie Steeples also star.

Earl is still questioning karma bringing Billie into his life. With the troubles in their marriage escalating, Earl turns to friends for advice. He realizes the best advice he gets is to follow his dad's example, which was to just work late and spend less time with your wife. In Earl's world, working late meant spending a lot more time devoted to the list. For a while it seemed to really work, but Billie grew very annoyed and forced Earl to choose between the list and her. What will Earl pick? Will karma lead him to the right decision?

Randy decides that putting Earl in long-term care is not the best decision, so he decides to take care of Earl himself. Joy and Darnell do not approve of Randy's newly adopted responsibility of taking care of his brother, but decide to let it play out for a bit. Randy feels that if they work together to complete tasks off the list, then Earl might recover even faster. Together they tackle the next task off Earl's list.

After having his heart broken by the babysitter, a young Earl goes to drastic measures to make sure she and her boyfriend pay the ultimate price. Now older and wiser, Earl decides it's time to cross them off his list. When he finds the couple and their live-in, obnoxious, grown son, he believes karma wants him to help the freeloader learn how to make it on his own. But when Earl finds that the lesson in tough love also applies to Randy, he realizes the difficulty in kicking someone out of the nest. Meanwhile, Joy struggles to tell Darnell that she lost his beloved pet turtle. Nadine Velazquez also stars.
