Rosina Lawrence

Rosina Lawrence was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She moved to Hollywood, California, with her family as a child. She played the schoolteacher, Miss Lawrence, in the "Our Gang" comedy shorts. In 1932, she performed in "A Connecticut Yankee" with Will Rogers. In 1936, she signed a long-term contract with Hal Roach Studios. Lawrence found her beginnings in film with roles in the Edward Everett Horton comedy "Your Uncle Dudley" (1935) and the Warner Oland mystery "Charlie Chan's Secret" (1936). Lawrence made film her next project, appearing in "General Spanky" (1936), the comedy "Mr. Cinderella" (1936) with Jack Haley and "Nobody's Baby" (1937). She also appeared in "Pick a Star" (1937). Later in her career, Lawrence acted in "Way Out West" (1937) with Stan Laurel. Lawrence was married to John C. McCabe and had three children. Lawrence passed away in June 1997 at the age of 85.
