Ron Oliver
Ron Oliver has made a name for himself directing, writing, and producing many kid-oriented television programs and motion pictures, but his career was kicked off in a much different arena: he wrote the screenplay for the cult-classic horror comedy "Prom Night II." The film was a sequel to 1980's "Prom Night," starring Leslie Nielsen and Jamie Lee Curtis, and spawned two more installments as well as a re-imagining of the original. Oliver wrote and directed the next chapter in the series, "Prom Night III: The Last Kiss," and separated it from the other films by turning it into a spoof and removing all horror elements. He has earned notable success and acclaim by developing a unique visual style that's mixed with satisfying elements of comedy and suspense. He received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for producing the adventure series "Scout's Safari," filmed and set in South Africa. He has also received Director's Guild of America Award nominations twice for his work on the children's horror series "Goosebumps."
