Richard Cansino
Short-sighted folk who see Richard Cansino solely as the nephew of Hollywood icon Rita Hayworth risk overlooking his career as a prolific voice actor who has worked in a number of notable anime series, features, and video games. Cansino got his first acting job dubbing English in the 1977 anime adaptation of the "Lupin III" manga. Two years later, he was cast in a supporting part as a gang member named Aztec in an episode of the CBS drama "The White Shadow." And while he spent the next decade-plus landing similar supporting roles in a number of series including "Remington Steele," "Hill Street Blues," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and "Falcon Crest," Japanese animation continued to provide him with his steadiest source of income. Among the series he's provided vocal talents to are "Bleach," "Digimon: Digital Monsters," "Ghost in the Shell," "Naruto," and "Zatch Bell!" Cansino has also worked on a number of martial arts-flavored live action shows, including various parts of the "Power Rangers" franchise and the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." His appearance in the 2003 made-for-television documentary "Rita" reaffirmed his show business lineage, but more people who might even recognize his name undoubtedly know Richard Cansino as the voice of Dragon Knight Squad leader Kuina in the 2005 anime "Noein: Mo hitori no kimi he (Noein: To Your Other Self)."
