Rekha Sharma
Rekha Sharma was a Canadian actress who was best known for her role as Tory Foster on the widely popular science-fiction series "Battlestar Gallactica" (Sci-Fi, 2004-09). Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, to parents of North Indian descent, Sharma's interest in acting didn't begin until she was in her early 20s. Having been bitten by the acting bug, she started going on film and TV auditions in her native Canada, and before long was nabbing guest spots on shows like "The Lone Gunmen" (Fox, 2001) and "The Outer Limits" (Showtime/Syfy, 1995-2002). In 2001 she landed her first recurring TV role on the series "Dark Angel" (Fox, 2000-02), but that series was cancelled after two seasons. Undeterred, Sharma continued nabbing TV and film roles over the next few years, most notably in "Whisper" (2007), "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" (2007), as well as a recurring role on the superhero series "Smallville" (The CW, 2001-2011). After close to a decade of solid work in Hollywood, Sharma landed her breakout role in 2006 on the science-fiction series "Battlestar Gallactica." She played Tory Foster on 31 episodes of the Emmy-winning series, which earned her a devoted fanbase from the show's loyal viewers. After "Battlestar Gallactica" ended in 2009 Sharma continued landing roles in both TV shows and movies, including "V" (ABC, 2009-2011), "The 100" (The CW, 2014-), and "No Men Beyond This Point" (2015). With her acting career sharply on the rise, Sharma landed a high-profile role in 2017 on the newest "Star Trek" TV reboot "Star Trek: Discovery" (CBS All Access, 2017-). She played Commander Landry on the series, which premiered in September of 2017.
