Rebecca Kufrin

Becca Kufrin was born in Prior Lake, MN. She attended Minnesota State University, Mankato; during her freshman year, Kufrin's father Steve died following a bout with brain cancer. She graduated in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, after which she found work at the Minneapolis, MN headquarters of Skyya, a technology public relations agency. By 2018, Kufrin's career-and life on the whole-had changed dramatically by way of her appearance on the perennial dating competition reality series "The Bachelor" (ABC 2002-). Kufrin was cast on the 22nd season of the show as one of 29 women vying for a romantic relationship with star Arie Luyendyk Jr. Though Kufrin won the competition proper, she was subsequently broken up with by Luyendyk, who opted instead to pursue her first runner-up, Lauren Burnham. The unexpected breakup earned Kufrin a wealth of support from the viewing public, notably in the form of an ad-hoc fundraiser that ultimate diverted all proceeds to Stand Up to Cancer, as well as Minnesota State Representative Drew Christensen lobbying to have Luyendik banned from Minnesota, Kufrin's home state. As of the termination of "The Bachelor" season 22, Kufrin was announced as the central player on the 14th season of "The Bachelorette" (ABC 2003-).
