Ralph Hemecker
A television director, writer, and producer, Ralph Hemecker is probably best known for directing the made-for-television feature film "Witchblade," a superhero story adapted from the comic book by Marc Silvestri. The story follows a brooding homicide detective played by actress Yancy Butler, who is the reluctant but determined heir to a symbiotic weapon that gives her supernatural powers.The supernatural law enforcement story was a hit with viewers and the movie was soon optioned for television. Hemecker acted as the showrunner, writer and executive producer for the subsequent series which aired from 2000 to 2002. The series was of high-quality and had a loyal fan base, despite its short run. In addition to his work with the Witchblade series, Hemecker directed episodes of "Dead at 21," "The X-Files," and "Blue Bloods." Hemecker also acted as executive producer of the 2003 TV movie "Chasing Alice," inspired by the writings of Lewis Carroll.I Hemecker also directed the feature film "Double Edge," starring Michael Beihn and Joong-Hoon Park. During the 1980s and 1990s, Hemecker also worked creating title sequences for television shows like "Silk Stalkings," "Renegade," and "Booker." In 2000 Hemecker became the founder of Mythic Films, a full-service company that produces film, television, and commercials.
