Rafaela Aparicio

Rafaela Aparicio was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in her acting career, Aparicio landed roles in various films, including "Ana Y Los Lobos" (1973), the comedy "Duerme, Duerme, Mi Amor" (1974) with Jose Luis Lopez Vasquez and "Cambio de Sexo" (1976) with Victoria Abril. She also appeared in the Esperanza Roy drama "Gusanos de Seda" (1976). She continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in "Cara de Acelga" (1986), "La Vida Alegre" (1987) and the Fernando Rey comedic drama "Padre Nuestro" (1987). She also appeared in "El Aire de un Crimen" (1988). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "Mama Cumple 100 Años" (1988) with Geraldine Chaplin, the Omero Antonutti dramatic period piece "The South" (1988) and the romance "El Ano de las Luces" (1989) with Jorge Sanz. Aparicio more recently acted in "El Mar y el Tiempo" (1989). Aparicio passed away in June 1996 at the age of 90.
