Paul McGillion
Paul McGillion's family moved to Canada, and they moved back and forth between Canada and Scotland before McGillion settled in Vancouver to pursue his acting career. He made his debut in an episode of the television show "The Commish" in 1994, and that same year, he had an uncredited guest appearance on the hit sci-fi show "The X-Files" with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as special agents investigating paranormal and extraterrestrial activity. In 1997, McGillion returned to "The X-Files" to play Fred Neiman in "Small Potatoes," and he also scored a part as a policeman in the television movie "A Cooler Climate" in 1999, which starred Sally Field and Judy Davis. McGillion continued to work on television, appearing on an episode of the Superman prequel "Smallville," before getting his big break playing Dr. Carson Beckett on the sci-fi series "Stargate Atlantis" from 2004 to 2009. After that series ended, McGillion appeared on an episode of "24."
