Paul Hurst

Paul Hurst was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Hurst appeared in such films as "The Railroad Raiders" (1917), "Lightning Bryce" (1919) and "The Outlaw Express" (1926). He also appeared in "The Red Raiders" (1927) with Ken Maynard. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "The Line-Up" (1934), the mystery "Take the Stand" (1934) with Jack LaRue and the mystery "Shadow of Doubt" (1935) with Ricardo Cortez. He also appeared in the romance "The Gay Deception" (1935) with Francis Lederer. Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the comedy "The Jones Family in Quick Millions" (1939) with Jed Prouty, "Edison, the Man" (1940) with Spencer Tracy and "The Westerner" (1940). He also appeared in the George Raft drama "They Drive By Night" (1940) and the James Cagney comedy "Torrid Zone" (1940). Hurst more recently acted in the Charles Winninger dramedy "The Sun Shines Bright" (1953). Hurst passed away in February 1953 at the age of 65.
