Paul Casey

Born in Chatham, England, Paul became interested in gymnastics and music at an early age. He attended Lane Theatre Arts and was soon auditioning for a wide range of musical roles in local theatre. His first big break came with a part in "Grease" that ran for two years in London at the Dominion Theatre. However, in 2000 his career took an abrupt shift. He had auditioned and been cast in a production of "Fosse" that about to go on tour when he had an opportunity to audition for a part in the upcoming Wesley Snipes film "Blade 2" (2002). He was cast as a reaper and for the first time found himself playing the role of a monster, complete with prosthetics. But it was his continued presence on the British cult television series "Doctor Who" that nailed Kasey's reputation as the actor to cast for a great monster. The initial call for an actor with a background in movement skills and a comfort with prosthetics landed him the role of an Auton, or mechanical creature. From there he simply continued to be called back whenever a new creature was called for in a Dr. Who episode. From simple Ood to the Whisper Man, Dr. Who continued to challenge Paul Kasey to find the soul of the monsters he portrays. By 2014 he had appeared in a total of 33 episodes, regular work also led to some other memorable monsters in film and television. Kasey had a regular part in the fantasy series "Being Human" (BBC 2008-13), where he played a werewolf. Kasey also worked on two spin-offs of "Doctor Who," "Torchwood" (BBC 2006-09) and "The Sarah Jane Adventures" (BBC, 2007-2011). He continued his prowess as a monster on both shows, portraying everything from the creepy Janet the Weevil to a series of robots. His role as a Minotaur in the children's film "Inkheart" (2008) continued his love affair with traditional monsters.
