Patrick Dewaere
Short-lived, popular leading man with a flair for comedy who made an arresting film debut as Gerard Depardieu's scabrous, temporarily impotent sidekick in Bertrand Blier's "Going Places" (1974). He was also memorable in Jean-Jacques Annaud's darkly comic "Hot Head" (1979) and Blier's "Beau Pere" (1981). Dewaere appeared in over 20 films before he died in 1982 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
